“In my early career, I worked at organizations with very structured and process-driven work cultures. Everything was by the book – strict clock-in times, set workflows, and narrow work scopes focused on executing repetitive projects. The priority was delivering specified outcomes on time. While this provided good training, the regulated environment allowed little flexibility or room for creativity, personal growth, or team bonding. Spontaneity was rare and out-of-the-box thinking was unconventional. The work hours were intense but interactions outside core work were minimal. Changing jobs was the only avenue for advancement or gaining exposure to newer skills. Eventually, I felt the need to expand my horizons and experience a more dynamic and collaborative work culture.
At my earlier job, after dedicating over a year, I realized our expectations were misaligned when they couldn’t accommodate my important personal needs. Though disheartened, it furthered my resolve to find an employer that valued me holistically – both professionally and personally. A friend introduced me to AtliQ, then a promising startup with no design team. I took a chance, interviewed, and was excited to be selected as their first designer.
Transitioning from my previous company to AtliQ marked a transformational shift in my career. This opportunity allowed me to build the design function from scratch and make an impact from day one. Here, I have the flexibility to manage my work hours and take time off when needed. The 5 day work week helps me maintain a healthy work-life balance where I can spend quality time with family and pursue hobbies like playing cricket, going for walks, and meeting up with friends.
Today, after 5 wonderful years, I head the graphic design department. What I love most about AtliQ is the management support, great work environment, and opportunities for personal growth through seminars, one-on-one monthly meetings, and self-learning. I feel valued as an employee here and am proud to be part of the AtliQ family. Leaving my previous job was difficult but it led me to an employer who appreciates me. I’m glad I took the chance with a startup like AtliQ and have seen it grow over the years with my career growth.”
